If you’re travelling abroad for business, you’ll need foreign currency notes for certain expenses. Exchange Control Regulations allow us to issue forex for travel purposes to business clients under the Omnibus facility.

How to order
  • Complete the Omnibus Facility Letter once a year.
  • This facility enables businesses to apply for forex for up to R20 million for each calendar year.
  • With each application, your business must complete a letter on a business letterhead requesting forex. The letter must include the details of each traveller.
  • An application form must be completed and submitted with a copy of the traveller’s passport and proof of travel (air ticket).  
  • If your business banks with us and is situated in a major metro, you can order forex via email and have it delivered to your business premises within 24 - 48 hours through our Direct Delivery service**.
  • As a UCount Rewards for Business member, you can earn 50 Tiering Points when purchasing R7 500 worth of foreign notes in a 12-month period***.

How to collect
  • You can collect major currencies from us immediately at any forex outlet. Other currencies are available within 24 hours if your business has ordered before 2pm.
  • We’ll need to see your ID, passport and travel ticket.
  • If you’re travelling beyond the common monetary area of South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho or Swaziland, you’ll need to confirm which border posts you’ll be using and the vehicle registration number(s).
