Instant Money
Need to pay someone who does not have a bank account? With Instant Money, there are six ways to send money: Online Banking, the Banking App, Cellphone Banking, Partnered Retailers, Instant Money Wallet and via Instant Money Bulk Payments for businesses.
There are several ways to send money:
- Visit one of our retail partners
- Send via the Banking App, ATM, Online Banking, Cellphone Banking and Bulk Payments
To send money at the retailers, you will need to present the following at the till point:
- Your South African ID Book or Smart Card
- Your South African cellphone number
- The recipient’s South African cellphone number
- Register and access your Instant Money Wallet by dialling *120*212# or download the Instant Money App on Google Play, Huawei Store and App Store
- Keep your money secure with a unique Wallet PIN
- Store your Instant Money Vouchers up to a value of R25 000 a month
- Send money from your Instant Money Wallet up to a value of R10 000 a day
- Send money from your Wallet to another Wallet for free
- Send money from your Wallet to any Standard Bank banking account
- Buy prepaid airtime, data, and electricity
Sign in to your app and select “Transact” on your home screen
Choose “Send” and then select “Send voucher to someone else”
Select the cellphone number of the recipient
Enter the amount and generate or enter your Cash Collection PIN
Enter the recipient name and reference, and click “Next”
Review the details and then send. You can withdraw the money from any our participating retailers or from a Standard Bank ATM.
- Instant Money™ vouchers are valid for 3 years.
- Bulk Payments clients can set the voucher to be valid for any period less than 3 years.
- You can call the Instant Money™ contact centre on 0860 466 639, select option 1 for self-service or option 2 to speak to a consultant.
- SPAR is the only retailer that can re-send the last active Instant Money™ Voucher. You will be required to produce proof of ID /Smart ID Card. If you did a Bulk Payment, you can resend the vouchers yourself.
- A full voucher number will be displayed if the voucher is created via the Banking App or Online Banking.
